Lauren Mishcon and Nicole Goodman are authors and hosts of the award-winning podcast Self Care Club and its new sister show, 40ish. Whether they’re trialling bizarre wellness trends or navigating the glorious mess of midlife, their dynamic is effortless and electric: best friends with razor-sharp wit, unfiltered opinions, and the kind of chemistry you can’t fake. It’s this rare balance—between real-life vulnerability and laugh-out-loud comedy—that’s earned them accolades, loyal listeners, and critical acclaim.
40ish was born out of a need for a show that truly reflected what it feels like to be a woman in her late 40s. When they couldn’t find one that balanced honesty with humor, they created it. 40ish dives into the chaos of midlife—teens, marriage, dating apps, school gate politics, and hormonal surprises—with raw conversations and real laughter.
Not comedians, just best friends who make each other (and their listeners) laugh until they cry. Lauren and Nicole believe comedy at this age isn’t just entertainment—it’s survival.
Since its 2024 launch, 40ish has become a top-charting show in Apple Podcasts’ Personal Stories category. As independent creators, Lauren and Nicole were honored to be selected for the prestigious Apple Podcasts Spotlight Program, and proud to represent Women’s History Month—bringing Women’s midlife stories into the spotlight, exactly where they belong.
They’re two independent women and podcasters who built something from nothing—and they’re the best friends (and hosts) you never knew you needed.
