Kayleigh Peters is a socially engaged artist based in West Sussex whose practice explores women's health, hidden illness, and gender bias in healthcare. Her ongoing participatory work, The Gown Project, uses embroidered hospital gowns as sites of storytelling, protest, and collective action. Through community workshops, participants stitch experiences of healthcare onto hospital gown fabric, transforming a symbol of vulnerability into one of visibility and resistance. The project has engaged participants through workshops at the Vagina Museum, the University of Oxford, and across the South East, leading towards exhibition in 2027.
