I am Woman: Unleash your voice

£10.00

1:30-2:30pm

This workshop draws inspiration from the iconic "I Am a Man" posters created for Dr. King and The Memphis Sanitation Workers’ Strike. These powerful posters, have become iconic in the history of protest art and left a lasting impression on the art and activism landscapes.

In our session, we will breathe new life into this historic artwork, adding a contemporary twist that echoes the struggles of modern women. The original posters conveyed the profound desire of black men to be recognised as human beings—a sentiment that resonates deeply with the everyday experiences of women today.

Led by Melin, our workshop will encourage you to reflect on what it means to be a woman in today’s world—whether you’re a daughter, a mother, a woman of colour, or a queer woman. We’ll explore the words that resonate with you and help you express your own declarations to the world.

Join us for a journey of self-discovery and expression where your voice is heard and your message is seen. Let’s explore what it means to be a woman in today’s society and shout it out to the world through art!
